| Consultants |  | Dr. Andreana Butter | Associate Professor | Victoria Hospital | |  | | Area of interest: Pediatric General Surgery, Pediatric Thoracic Surgery, Fetal Research | BIO: I completed medical school at the University of Ottawa and general surgery residency at Western. While doing my residency, I also did a year of research at McGill (Montreal Children's Hospital) in pediatric surgery; specifically in the area of fetal surgery and congenital diaphragmatic hernia. I obtained my Masters of Science Degree from McGill University in 2001. Upon completing my general surgery residency, I returned to Montreal for a pediatric surgery fellowship at Sainte Justine Hospital of which I completed June 2005. I joined the staff at LHSC in Sept 2005, as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery. My clinical areas of interest include pediatric thoracic and general surgery. My research interests are in the area of fetal surgery with minimally invasive ways (laparoscopic and robotically assisted) of correcting or improving outcomes for congenital anomalies such as bladder outlet obstruction and congenital diaphragmatic hernia.

I was appointed as Assistant professor in the Divisions of Pediatric Surgery and General Surgery at the University of Western Ontario in 2009.
